Bang in the middle of post production, planning everything on our own, we decided to book venues for a tour to promote the album. But the finalisation of mixes etc is taking longer than expected. So we decided on going a head with with whatever venues we had booked already. After kale left, we are still in the process of finding a suitable replacement on the bass. Srijan got extremely busy with his tours with parikrama and half step down, so he could not even meet or jam with the bassists that Nikhil and I were trying out. We decided to take Harshit Misra on our little mini-tour pre-album launch. There was alot of anxiety and nervousness because Sri had not even met Harshit yet and when they did meet, it was on the same day that we had a show in calcutta. Anyhow, so the story of this trip goes something like this ...

Nikhil stayed over the night before. As the time came for me to wake him up, i went into the guest room and saw him hugging his blackberry and sleeping ... lol , i wish i had taken a picture of that (For those who dont know him, he is ADDICTED to his blackberry). So we finally woke up, had coffee and breakfast etc. and at around 8 am , Harshit calls to tell me he has reached. Nikhil and I were laughing because our flight was at 9:45, we had planned our morning in a way to reach the airport by 8:45 (which we did) .... it was quite funny :p

Anyhooo, we reached the airport, got on the plane and slept (at least i did). Rather uneventful flight, cuz i slept through most of it. As we reached calcutta, luckily our stuff were the first things to come. So we grabbed it all and headed out. It was so HOT in calcutta, unbelievable 30 Degrees Celsius !!! On our way, i started getting really hungry and can't eat any oily food these days, so i need to find myself a "Subway" ... A million thanks to Google Maps and Apple for coming out with the iPhone, because we found a subway in an alien city all through Google Maps on iPhone. Ate a nice lunch and were just chilling in the room, patching up our tones etc. and once srijan woke up (He was already in calcutta as he played a show with HSD a night before) we started to rehearse as Sri had never met Harshit before, so we needed to at least go over structures etc. After that we were just chilling and laughing about stories from previous tours, srijan and I were filling in the rest of the guys about all of the funny / fun things that have happened to us in the past. Nikhil and I kept scaring Harshit saying "Dude, we're gonna make you drink so much, ur gonna puke at least 5 times at night" ... lol ... he was getting so nervous and scared about it .... eventually told him that we're just kidding.

Anyhow, we headed for the venue thanks to google maps and iPhone again , only this time it was Srijan's iPhone. I had left my converter pin for the processor in delhi, Nikhil and I got out of the car and went looking around, spent about half an hour looking in malls and shops and FINALLY found it (Ironically, the very next day, we came to know that if we open the plug , there is an Indian pin there already, so no converter in actually required ... lol :p) . So we finally reached the venue, with no sound engineer, we had to mix our own sound, and it turned out to sound awesome. The gig was super tight. Met up with my friend Ayesha, who came specially to watch the show and showed up when it got over :p . After dinner, we headed back to our hotel, chilled for a bit, laughed a little more and then crashed.

The next day, we got in our cabs and left for the airport, dropped off Ayesha to her college and reached the airport. This flight was super funny. Nikhil, me and Vibhu (Our tour manager) were sitting in the same row and were talking total crap non-stop, we could barely stop laughing. To top it all off, the person sitting in front of Vibhu complains "Why are you poking me ? " He was about 40 years old and had his mother fighting his battles .... hehehehehehe, his mom kept checking to see if Vibhu's legs are touching her son's seat or no, LOL ... so funny.

As we reached delhi, we were so tired and had to play another show in delhi the same night. But as they say, a musician's life may seem glamourous but it's super hectic and SO MUCH FUN !!!! Had loads of fun at our show in delhi as well. Until next time ...

Im quite excited about the upcoming Cyanide gig at HRC. It's been a year since we've played. Kale went off to college and has come back till October ... I recorded "Lead the way" and started a record label. Bindal left the band and Nikhil joined. But most important of all is that, we managed to write a whole bunch of new songs .... Keep things fresh. So we are planning to play about 5 new songs at our HRC gig. We've got more, but (a) no point letting out all the new songs at once (b) For the people who have been asking about Cyanide and wondering when we're gonna play next ... it's only fair to play most of the songs that they know and love. Hope people turn up for the gig, because we are quite excited about playing on stage again.

Then the "Not over yet EP" is being planned and will be released very soon. I'm sure when Pubrockfest starts, it should be out and available to everybody and anybody who comes for a Cyanide gig "FREE OF CHARGE" .... How cool is that ??? :p :p :p We're planning some cool things in the EP, so im quite excited about getting that out there. Plus it will be the first Release of 44G Records .... so that makes it even more exciting.

Even as we are meeting and rehearsing for the gig ... and getting our new songs tight, we are writing more and more songs during practice. Lots of times during a run through, we'll stop and discuss structures and all of a sudden before we know, we are jamming to some new riffs and it ends up becoming a new song by itself. The best part about the new line-up is that there are more people in the band who are active song writers, so it's really cool. It widens the horizon of the style of songs that the band writes. But more than anything else .... I'm dying to play our come back gig at HRC ....

Centenary Lunch for my grand fathers

On 10th January, 2010 , we celebrated the 100th year birth anniversary for both my grandfathers. Ezekiel Henry Solomon would have been a 100 years old on the 13th and Samuel Prem Dass would have turned a 100 on the 31st.

It was heart warming to see and meet so many people from the family who we don't get to meet everyday and a lot of who I met for the very first time. I never knew either of my grandfathers but judging from the turnout that they got, they must have been amazing people, who were able to touch the lives of so many. We all got together and made several collages of pictures we had collected over the years including a picture taken on the 9th of July 1915, when my grandfather was just 5 years going on to pictures of them and thier kids and then their kids' kids (which is MY generation). It was a treat for people who knew them, because they would remember the good old days. There was a prayer ceremony to thank god for their lives and to thank god for the fact that they family is still so close. My father was the master of ceremony, my brother gave a speech and I sang a song.

By the end of it, we all had an amazing time meeting our family members and maintaining the family bond. All those people who are in other parts of the world and couldn't make it, we truly missed all of you.

Canada and US Trip 2009 !!!

OH MY GOD .... I dont even know where to start .... This trip was so eventful that i think it'll end up being as long as a novel .... but ill try to keep it short :p

So basically ... I really needed this trip as I had been cooped up in a studio for 6 months working on my record "Lead the way", When it was finally done .... I needed some time off ... and PERFECT timing for 2 of my sisters to get married. I was so excited to leave ... had come back from Bombay and 2 days later i had to leave for Toronto. Traveling all alone is fun. I was chilling in the business class lounge, had a beer and was checking out whatever mixes had been mailed to me by Sid (as he was still in bombay at Yash Raj Studios). Anyhow, time came for me to board. Got on the plane, got served some Dom right as we took off .... Nice flight, saw "17 again" on the plane, nice movie. Then I landed in Brussels airport as i had a stop over there. Went to the duty free shop, bought some chocolates for my cousins, nephew and niece in toronto, chilled at the beer, had a local beer and was chatting with my brother on gtalk. After 2 hours, the time finally came for me to get back on the plane. Another 8 hours on the plane and then FINALLY i land in toronto.

Got my bags very quickly (even though the cart machine refused my US dollars, but i shoved it in anyway) ... As I walked out I saw Kammo Masi, Teddy Mamu and my cousin Bunny. I was so thrilled to meet them after so long. We got to the car and drove to their house in Mississauga. It is GORGEOUS , the entire neighborhood is amazing. Then we went to my cousin Bob's place ... I was sooo excited cuz I was meeting all of those guys after about 5 years or so .... My nephew Kabeer and niece Rubaina have gotten so big , it was a real treat to see them. And of course, Deepa Bhabi is still as fun as EVER !!!! (May i mention that she is THE PERFECT Wingman to take out to a bar :p)

Anyhow, the very next morning I had to leave for Vancouver for Ayesha's wedding. So Kammo Masi, Teddy Mamu and I left for Vancouver and as we reached there, we looked around for 45 minutes and 'what do ya know' .... NOBODY there to pick us up ..... lol .... Actually it didnt help that our plane was early, but still .... It was soooo funny, they all had a really late night and over slept. But no harm done, Anil Mamu lives in Richmond which is about 5 minutes from the Vancouver airport, so we just called him and he rushed to pick us up in shorts (might i add :p) . He is so awesome, as usual he took me to my fav. coffee joint "Tim Hortons" for a black coffee and a blue berry doughnut. I was sooo excited to be meeting Emily Aunty, Ryan and Kristyn, as they had just come to delhi almost a year back and we all had a BLAST together.

So, in the evening we reached Coquitlam, Uncle Reggie's house. There was a bbq there. I was so excited to be meeting all of them. I met Brian's family, they are all so cool to hang out with. It was such a fun night (unfortunately, it was THE only night in Vancouver that I was well enough to party, I was soooo sick for the rest of my time there, but we'll get to that later). It was so much fun .... Ayesha getting Mehndi (well actually it was Nivea cream .... lol), but whatever .... it was good fun smothering both of them with all that cream. May i mention that Uncle Reg makes THE BEST steaks in the world.

The next day we all were leaving for Agassiz, which is where Ayesha and Brian were getting married. Fraser River Fishing Lodge, it was soooooo beautiful there. But as it was the country side and it was harvest season, so there was all of hay particles floating around in the air and im highly allergic and asthmatic .... so i got really sick. But somehow made it through the rehearsal dinner and the actual wedding in one piece.

The day after the wedding .... it was a very special day for me, because Ryan, Chris and Kristyn took to Abbotsford, which is the town where "Smallville" is shot and we actually went to the "Kent Farm" .... For Smallville fans, thats a pretty big deal.

I had soooo much fun hanging out with my cousins ..... Kristyn is soooo sweet, she took me to the doctor's clinic to get me checked up and waited with me, went Sun Glasses shopping with me .... lol .... i love and miss her alot. Ryan is sooo awesome as well .... We hung out on my last day in Vancouver and he took me out to this AWESOME Thai place .... Great food and local thai beer called "Singha" ... I love and miss him alot too.

Now, comes my time to leave Vancouver .... and head back to Toronto .... Kristyn dropped me off and we said our goodbyes.

I reach Toronto at 6 am .... and knowing Bunny, the awesome person and brother that he is .... he insisted that he would come and pick me up ... even though i told him that i'll just take a cab since its so early in the morning. But sure enough, he was there to pick me up at 6 am. We went back to Mississauga and I slept and slept and slept .... cuz i hadnt slept properly in days. But by 1 am , Teddy mamu woke me up, because we had to leave for Nonu's wedding. I got ready in 10 minutes, and then we left .... picked up a burger from Wendy's and a coffee from Timmy's .... I think now is a good time to mention that for my first 2 weeks in Canada ... I had a burger and fries everyday for all 3 meals (regardless of whether i ate something else before or after those burgers, but the burgers were a necessity). We reached the church and attending Nonu's wedding. It was a really good ceremony. The reception was so much fun .... Honey, Bunny and myself ... we performed a few songs as well. Up until now, I still hadn’t really settled into any particular time zone cuz, India to Toronto and then Vancouver which is 3 hours difference from Toronto time and then back to Toronto. But I stayed about a week or maybe a little more than that in Toronto and got settled into it. Stayed with my cousin Bob and had a blast there … bbq’s and going out to bars and all, good fun. Met up with my friends Rudra and Pooja as well, we were chillin downtown. The next day I took a cab and met Honey, bunny and all at Niagra falls, cliffton hill. I never knew that place has so much to do. Earlier I always thought that it was JUST the falls, but cliffton hill is sooo cool. I basically had to stay in Toronto to receive the masters of the album from Sterling Sound. When I received it, I headed out to Vegas (I was supposed to head out to Florida first to meet my manager, but it didn’t work out).

On my journey from Toronto to Vegas, I was on “stand by” and had a stop over in Chicago … I had to wait for 7 and a half hours at Chicago airport, as I missed 3 flights on account of there being no room on the plane for stand by passengers, I finally made it on the fourth … and on that flight I was sitting with the most annoying British couple and to top it all off, I was on the isle, I hate the isle seat, I like WINDOW SEATS. But I survived, the only thing that kept me going was VEGAS BABY VEGAS !!!!!

It was my first time in Las Vegas … I had a BLAST … First night, I was alone as my cousins Jared, Tinku Bhaiya and Sonu Bhabi reached a day after me. So the first night, I just rented a limo for the night and the driver Warren was so cool. He took me around the town, showed me so many cool bars, hotels and casinos … I fell in love with Black Jack that night … lol. The next day my cousins reach and we hung out the whole night pretty much. I stayed at the “Imperial Palace Hotel” . Over there they have these things called “Dealertainers” , they are Black Jack dealers and impersonators of well known celebrities like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Pink, Alice Cooper, Britney Spears, J.Lo etc etc. They would go up and perform on stage and then come to your table and deal Black Jack. Tinku Bhaiya and Sonu Bhabi had to go back to LA the next day, but Jared stayed on with me. I don’t think I should write more about my Vegas trip … Just that it was awesome … I played a lot of BlackJack … Oh and Jared and I ate in this burger joint called “Fat Burger” …. It was sooooo amazing. We ate the triple, a 24 Oz. burger … with “Fat fries” hahahaha, couldn’t even finish half of it. On our last day there, I rented a car from Hertz and we drove back to LA, it was my first tme driving in the US and that also a left hand drive, it was weird at first but I got used to it in 10 minutes.

As we reached LA, we went to Holt Boulevard where Bev Aunty and Jason were staying. It was cool to meet Jason after 4 years. It was so awesome meeting so many people from the family (I have ALOOOOT of family in LA). Stayed with practically everyone … Reshu Didi, Tinku Bhaiya, Sonu Bhaiya, Jason and Jared … Drove to San Diego and stayed with Ashok Mamu as well. Met Sunjay Bhaiya and family and met Emrald Aunty and Mavis Aunty as well, had lunch with her twice. I had such a blast at Tinku Bhaiya and Sonu Bhabi’s place … they really know how to party … The kids Aisha, Ameya and Krish are soooo sweet. We celebrated Tinku Bhaiya’s birthday and played a lot of “Kings” and Poker there, good fun. Sonu Bhabi’s dad got them a poker table along with the poker set …. Sooo cool. Ate the MOST amazing Sushi , the angry Lobster … OH MY GOD … AWESOME !!! It was cool hanging out with Jason and Jared, just the 3 of us after so long. We grew up together and hadn’t chilled together in 4 years, so it was good fun.

As I drove to San Diego all alone from Rancho Cucamonga … I saw how beautiful the drive was. Stopped on the way in some town for some coffee which I managed to spill all over myself while driving on the freeway at 80 mph and it was HOOOOOT !!!!! Anyways, I reached San Diego and chilled with Ashok Mamu, Marianne Aunty and Aiyana. Aiyana has really grown up since the last time we met and she has matured and listens to some awesome music. We kept discussing music for so long and we both introduced each other to some awesome new bands. 4 am the next morning, Ashok Mamu and I left for the port as we went out for fishing in the ocean. It was so much fun, I love fishing. Caught 3 huge 15 Lb. Tunas. I had to leave the next day as I had to be back in LA for Sonu Bhabi’s birthday party.

It took me less than an hour to get back, I got the tunas with me as well … in case they wanted to bbq or fry it for the party. Had a blast at Sonu Bhabi’s birthday as well. We played so many games, one of which was “How well do u know the birthday girl?” … And I WON !!!! Last 2 nights in LA, we ordered the most amazing thai food from a restaurant very close to Tinku Bhaiys’s house ….. 2 nights in a row AND for breakfast … it was out of this world. Played some pool in their house too, specially on my last night there … we were playing pool till 2 am or something even though I had to get up at 5 am and drive all the way to LAX from Holt Boulevard. Returned my rental car at the Hertz drop off at LAX and then caught my flight back to Toronto.

As I reached Toronto, I was sooo hungry, I didn’t eat anything on the plane as I was sleeping through out the flight. So as I landed, I saw that Kammo Masi and Teddy Mamu were there to pick me up and then we went to the nearest Burger King to their house and I gobbled up 2 burgers … Ahhhh Satisfaction Personified !!! As I had learnt Black Jack from Vegas, I taught everyone about it and Poker and we all kept playing Cards the whole time even though it was with no money, but whatever, it was fun. I celebrated my birthday in Toronto. My friend Preeya came over to my Masi’s place to meet up with me on my birthday, it was really cool catching up with her as well. Bunny bought me a real original “Master Replica” of Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber, it is sooooo real … its unreal. But as every good story has to end eventually, so did my trip. I said my goodbyes on the night of my birthday as I was leaving the next evening. On the way to the airport, Teddy Mamu drove through a McDonald’s and I ate my last proper beef burger for that trip … it was an Angus beef burger with cheese and bacon … Ahhhhh … He dropped me off to the airport and we said goodbye.

At the airport, I was hoping they wouldn’t give me any grief about carrying my lightsaber with me as carry on , but they were all cool with it. In fact, in brussels while going through security check, the guard used to sell these , so he was really excited about seeing me with it. As they saw me with a guitar, everyone kept asking me how was my tour, hehehe, it was funny even though I didn’t go for a music tour this time around, yeah but soon enough ☺

Right before landing in delhi, I was soooooo excited to be back home, when I spoke to my mom while I was at brussels airport, I told her to have Daal Chawal and Palak Paneer ready at home, I was missing home food like CRAZY !!!!! Had enough of burgers and steaks and beef in general, which is actually why I’m a fishitarian for a month or so, to de-tox. Anyhow, it took really long for one of my suit cases to arrive. Usually I wouldn’t care, but as I always buy loads of DVD’s when I go abroad, I didn’t want to lose that suit case. But 20 minutes later I finally got it and walked out … and saw that my ENTIRE family had come to pick me up, it’s always a good feeling to know that ur family actually gives a crap about you :p … and just like, I was back to reality, back to New Delhi, back to my family , BACK HOME !!!!!

Day 3 in Bombay

Yesterday was THE most tiring day during the entire process of making this record. Shantanu had suggested the day before that we should re-do the vocals for one song "hold me" ... So I reached the studio by 11, did the vocals in less than an hour ( Cheers to Eric Arcenaux's vocal warm up excercises ). Andrew had to come in to track piano for one more song, which he did and played to perfection. After that it was ALL me .... I technically tracked 14 songs, 1 vocal, 4 piano and 9 acoustic guitar. By the end of it , I was soooooo tired, it was unbelievable. Josh had reached the studio by 8 or so, was chilling. We gor done by 12 mid night. We were all very hungry so we found a place an had a less than decent burger an then sid and Josh headed to the hotel I booked or them and I headed to my aunt's place.

Next morning , I get woken up by both of them . They told me that Josh had a bad panic attack and couldn't breathe. Very scary .... He didn't seem to get better. So I brought him to the hospital. We won't be able to track drums today as he is not well at all. Since the album has 2 songs without drums, we'll go ahead and start mixing them and Josh can track the drums tomorrow when he's better ..... I'm at the hospital right now , waiting for him to come out. Hope he feels better.

Phase 2 of the record

I'm in Bombay now with one of my co-producers (Sidhant Mathur). We originally set out to mix the album and re-record piano parts for all the songs on a grand piano and re-work and record string arrangements which will be composed and arranged by an awesome producer named Andrew T. Mackay. But as we spent some time in the studio and started to record piano ... We heard the difference in the sound quality. This actually made us extremely satisfied as well as disappointed, because the drum sound didn't seem all that hot after hearing what it could have sounded like .... So we took a call and decided to re-record drums for all the songs as well and also re-record rhythm acoustic guitars sitting in the HUGE hall with top class mics. I know that means pushing the budget , but at the end of the day, it is going to be worth it. I'm so happy about the direction of this album ... It's really headed in the right direction and is gonna end up sounding awesome. It's gonna be something I'm going to be proud of my whole life. In one session at Yash Raj Studio , Andrew changed the face of this album. I'm loving the experience in Bombay so far. Can't wait for the mixing to start.

Dad's birthday

Today is my dad's birthday. We had a great day. I got up by 10 or so, just ate a donut. My aunts and cousin brother came over and then we cut the cake. Went out to Machan in Taj Mansingh for some awesome brunch. I have some coupons/gift certificates valid till the end of this month. We ate some insane food ... Crab in Thai green curry and grilled lobster .... It was amazing !!!!! Popped open some champagne, ate like pigs and we were all happy !!! :D

Now we're back home. My brother and I are watching LOST. I had an insane day. Good fun !!!!

My BIGGEST Inspiration .....

I am a very obsessive kind of person. Dont really like too many things, but whatever I like, i can do that over and over again. e.g. Even though i'm a musician, I haven't heard soooooooo many legendary bands .... I mean ... Sometimes when people hear things like, I havent heard anything by Hot Action Cop, have heard only one track by the Bee Gees, chuck berry, Rush, Bill Withers (even though "Aint no sunshine" has been covered by soooo many people), they are just shocked. But the truth is that i just havent bothered to check them out. Couldnt care less about Alter Bridge even though I used to LOVE Creed .... Not that Alter Bridge may not be a good band, but I just havent bothered to go out and buy their record .... But for the bands I love, i could listen to them OVER & OVER & OVER again and really NOT get bored.

Believe it or not .... When i was a kid, I had never heard any artist or band except for Michael Jackson. I was so content with his music that I didnt feel the need to listen to anything else. I think someone gifted me his album "Bad" or maybe my brother went out and bought the tape and I just kept listening to it over and over, but I know I was about 4-5 years old when I started listening to MJ and believe it or not .... I actually NEVER heard any other band/artist till I was 9 .... I was actually content with those three records "Thriller", "Bad" and "Dangerous" .... Even my cousins were totally obsessed with MJ.

A HUGE part of why I became a musician was because, his music touched me in a way that no other artist's can. Even today when i hear songs like Man in the mirror, Give in to me, Dirty Diana, Black or White, Beat it etc etc .... I still get goose bumps. Even though i never pursued learning any instrument till I was 12, but I still had this inner dream to become a musician and make music that may touch the lives of other people someday. I dont know if ive changed anyone's life through my music or anything, but whenever my band (Cyanide) plays a concert and I see people in the crowd lip singing to ever word of one of our own songs, its an awesome feeling. When we played at Launchpad infront of some 5000 odd people, while playing "Untold Misery", I could hear the crowd sing with us, almost like chanting .... It was an amazing feeling to see something that you wrote through your imagination, being sung by a huge crowd. I seriously think that music is the BEST gift.

When I woke up on June 25th, 2009 at around 8 am .... I just switched my phone on and checked facebook .... and all i saw on the home page was RIP MJ, You rock MJ ... RIP, Now playing: Beat it :( ... RIP ........ After seeing all that it still took me a minute to comprehend what exactly happened. I immediately checked out cnn.com, google news ... and both confirmed it "MICHAEL JACKSON - THE KING OF POP IS DEAD" ..... I just felt this weird feeling, it still didnt register for about 10 minutes or so, i kept saying "How can he be dead?" Since it was early morning, none of the news papers had printed it till the next day. I got out of my room .... my mom and masi were in the dining room , I quickly went and told them and they were really saddened by this news. When that man died, whatever was left of my childhood died with him. But he will still live forever through his amazing music. RIP MJ, you never got any peace on earth, I really hope you get some peace where you are. Thank you for your music and thank you for inspiring me to be become a musician, I cant see myself being anything else. You are without a doubt My BIGGEST Inspiration.

LEGENDARY Trip to mussoorie .... 2009

We left by train on 10th May .... I was so excited about this trip because it was after a long time that i was going to mussoorie in a HUGE group of family and family friends .... hadnt done that in a long time. So we all go into the train BARELY on time .... As soon as i got in, the train started moving and i realised that my dad and brother were still not on the train, so i looked outside to see that they were not even on the platform .... they had just about managed to get onto the train but a few blocks away .... so i walked across and finally found them with ALL the baggage (hehehehehehe, now when i think about it, its funny), at that moment i was so frustrated because I was sleepy and i had to carry all that luggage across two blocks (im forgetting what you call the train box where people sit) ... Anyhow FINALLY got everything into our compartment (oh yaaaa .... THATS what its called) and sat down, a few minutes later my mom brought the food out (she had packed loads of sandwiches for everyone) .... Ahhhhhh .... that sandwich was bliss !!!!! I suddenly went on a photographer and video taping trip so i started taping everyone who was sleeping .... Tessie and Nasreen were asleep and i started bugging them, it was REALLY funny :p .... After a long and FREEZING train journey, we finally reached Dehradun ..... got off to find no porters in sight .... anyhow, to cut a long story short , we drove up to our home in mussoorie in our own cars as they were waiting for us at the station as the drivers and servants and driven up a day before we did.

The weather was just amazing ... it is so quiet and peaceful up at our place, MUCH needed vacation. All of us just unwounded and enjoyed the awesome weather .... As usual, we stayed up till later playing "Monopoly" and quite obviously I won ..... "Cuz i am LEGEN (wait for it ... wait for it) DARY" :p .... I also take full responsibility for curropting the minds of the sweet aunties and the sweet barely legals by introducing them to the LEGENDARY game called "KINGS" .... :D

Every night we would stay up .... it would usually be Tessie, Nikki, Shiny and Nasreen chilling at night .... but one night ALL of us played Kings till about 2 am .... that was awesome . It was so much fun bonding with Tessie and Nikki, they are such awesome people, i feel blessed to have gotten the chance to know them better :) (PS: Tessie, if ur reading this .... Yes yes , i can be nice to you from time to time ..... hahahahahahaha :p) ... One night, Nikki, Tessie and myself stayed up the whole night .... hahahahahahaha, my mom couldnt digest the fact that we hadn't slept AT ALL .... but we were quite wide awake, we had a few cups of coffee and then when my mom woke up, we all went for a walk around sister's bazaar but the clouds were so thick that i could barely breathe so we went back up :(

We made a few trips to the mall also where we played some video games and oh ya .... we went to Jaypee 4 times on this trip .... we were just having a blast bowling and playing pool
Of course we made our usual trips to Chaar Dukaan and had the Bun Omelets and the LEGENDARY banana pancakes .... YUMMMMMYYYYYY!!!!!

Many nights we would stay up and watch "How I met your mother" .... hahahahahahaha which would probably explain why im using the word LEGENDARY so much in this blog post. :p

Hahahahahahahaha, I totally forgot, every morning i would bring my niece to wake up these girls while they are sleeping ..... it was so funny, this tiny little thing is running around the room waking everyone up :p ..... Oooohhh, one night pretended to be sleepy and said good night , but slyly i went around back outside their room and knocked on the window and all the girls SCREAMED their touches off ..... hahahahahahahaha ..... it was LEGEN (wait for it) DARY ....

It was an awesome trip .... would kill to go there again with the exact same people ... Good fun.

But unfortunately i had to leave early because i had to come back to delhi to finish recording my album ..... the weather in delhi is horrible ...... I hate it

Insomnia blues .....

Off late ... I've been having bad insomnia. Usually that would be a bad thing but I'm liking the end result .... I wrote two really awesome songs during my sleepless nights, although I won't be using them in "lead the way" as they are not faith based gospels songs. It's 'kindda' weird because I'm actually liking the fact that I can't sleep at night .... It's so peaceful and it's the best time to write songs when there is no one to disturb you . I quite like the direction that these songs are going in .... More mature, very different chord progressions , nothing like what you'll hear in "lead the way" but yet very melodic. Over the last week I wrote another gospel song "love of the lord" and a few other songs which I doubt will ever see the light of day ... :p

Anyhow .... I'm still waiting to get back to the studio ... I was supposed to be going to check out outdoor locations for the upcoming photoshoots but my photographer bailed on me :s . Will keep you guys updated on the progress

Awesome trip/gig in Banur

I know im posting this about a week after our gig in Banur but i was really ill (bad asthma attacks) .... Sorry i dont have any pics from the trip, but there are videos:

We left delhi at 6:30 am , went in 2 cars, Gucci came along to do sound for us. Sri, Pills and Bindal went in Sri's car and Gucci and I in my car ..... Heheheheh, we spoke about everything under the sun, then Sri and I went into "Race Mode" and we were driving at like 150 - 160 constantly for a bit .... it was CRAZY !!!!! Stopped at "Zill Mill" Dhaba to eat some killer paranthas and omelet .... Anyhow, we reached by 11 am or so and were greeted by the organisers of the fest. We asked them the usual stuff, "Where is our room?? Where are the beers?? " We were escorted to our "Amazing 5 star quality rooms" .... "NOOOOOOOOT" ..... they are THE most hideous rooms EVER, but anyhow, we just had to kill some time as we had already decided that we aint gonna be sleeping there. So we kept chilling in the room for about 6 hours or so where the electricity was probably there for just 2 of the hours and that also not at a stretch. So we kept boiling our asses off, the ONLY saving grace was the chilled beer.

Time for sound-check came and by this time I had was feeling really sick, i could barely breathe ... I had already had about 4-5 puffs from my inhaler .... Anyhow, i just figured "it'll pass" .... We took about 15 minutes to sound-check as they were short on time and the competing bands had to get on stage .... We sat through about 5 bands as we were the judges .... and then FINALLY it was time for us to get on the stage .... by then i had already asked the students about a hospital near by and by the grace of god, there was a medical college/hospital next door .... it was HUGE. We got on stage, started playing .... we jammed on some punjabi stuff as well to get everyone even more excited then they already were. The faculty asked the organisers to tell us to end the set quickly as the buses had to leave or something, so we did .... we got off stage, had the organisers carry our stuff to my car ... then Bindal and I went to the hospital to the emergency room , he took care of the all the formailities and running around getting medicines, while I was admitted in the emergency room, the doctors put on a nebulizer and gave me an injection to allow me breathe again .... it was so bad. Sri was taking care of our payment and fuel re-imbursement etc ..... After about an hour and a half or so .... I was allowed to leave. Pills' dad hooked up a room for us in Chandigarh .... and the rooms were SWEET !!!! :D So finally we had a good night's sleep.

Next morning, we got up by 8 or so .... showered, had breakfast and left .... Inspite of all the heat and the emergency room drama .... It was an awesome trip. Chatted with Gucci alot about the music business and learnt so much about how a record company functions etc etc. Good fun!!!!

Anyohw .... So this is what Cyanide has been upto. As far as "Lead the way" goes .... the studio is booked for some other artist till about 10th or 11th of May, so i can only get back to recording after that. Till then, i'll be getting a few photoshoots done for promo material and for the website .... I have been working with Carl (Half Step Down) on my website as well .... the concepts are looking pretty good .... but now we need the pictures from the upcoming photoshoots .... So thats that .... will keep you guys posted on when i get back to the studio .... Thats another reason why i haven't released Episode 5 of the podcast as yet, cuz there's nothing to film ... nothing excited, im either chillin at home watching TV or at work .... But as soon as the work gets started with the photoshoots and i get back to the studio, i will be releasing the next episode for the podcast.

Had a great Easter. Right now i'm in Bangalore .... Have a few meetings here (music as well as real estate related) . I have been totally in my cocoon, just working out new songs, some of which will make it to the record and some will not, but its always good to have options. So basically, i now have enough songs to hit the studio and record again. Need to make some really good quality demos ... to pitch them to international record labels ... Recording an album is a long and cumbersome process. But ill keep updating the Blog every now and then

I signed with TMA Management

So, i haven't blogged in a while as i have been totally busy with recording ... So during the whole record making process, I started looking for management and contacted many agencies from the US and finally zoomed in on "The Management Agency" (TMA) ... Gary Stripling (CEO, TMA) flew down to New Delhi and held "Music Industry Consultations" with me over 3 days and went through a very cumbersome and lengthy process of very details steps we would be taking to further my career and promote "Lead the way" ... And eventually i signed with TMA ... So now there are big plans and ALOT of work ... but i shall keep you guys updated.

Tuesday 17th Feb 2009:

I start recording my gospel album today. Going to start with the guitar based songs first as the Piano based songs will have to be recorded at my place. Starting with "Embrace You" and "Sing Hallelujah" .... we should wrap up the acoustic guitar takes for both the songs by today, or at least i hope we do .... hehehehehe . So, basically thats it .... we get the ball rolling and see how fast the record gets done. I'll keep updating my blog for further progress on the recording process.

Calcutta - A Crazy Cyanide gig .... "Hose in the Hoes" ..... Till "Death" do us part

For the Calcutta circuit, Srijan and Bindal couldn't make it, so Daniel and Carl came with us to play. Teaching Carl all the songs got a little hectic because he fell ill in between and couldnt even practice for a few days. Anyhow, we got through all the bullshit and finally managed to rehearse a tight set......

The trip pretty much began when my alarm went off at 5 AM, We got back from practice by 12 and slept .... so after 5 hours of sleep, i was doing good, was decently fresh, but when I woke up Danny, the look on his face was hilarious, he was like "Dude, it's like i JUST slept" ..... hahahahahahahaha, anyhow, then Pilla was scaring the shit out of me cuz he wasnt picking up his phone and made me call his land line at 5:15 am. Finally we were on our way to the airport when suddenly (i dont even know how I had the sense at that time in the morning, but anyhow .... :p) i realised i had left my wallet at home, so I turned the car around and drove back so fast, it was crazy (and its not like we had alot of time, we were cutting it pretty close) Finally the 3 of us reached the airport pretty much the same time as Carl and we were all sorted till we reached the Check in counter and realised that Danny and Pilla couldnt be seated as there were no more seats available .... so they got upgraded (those bastards!!!! :p) . Carl and I couldnt even recline our seats as we were sitting on the emergency exit, but we had fun watching Entourage on my phone and eating the worst excuse for a meal EVER!!!!! Indian Airlines SUCKS!!!!!!

After a bumpy flight and a frightening landing, we finally managed to reach .... It was hot and horrible. Got our stuff after almost 20 minutes and booked a cab and Finally got the hell outta there. Anoop met us on the road near Ruby hospital. Finally we went upstairs and ordered some beer, after one bottle everybody wanted to sleep, so we did .... knowing me, I cant sleep for too long if ive had even a half way decent sleep at night, so I got up in like one and a half hours and messaged Alo and Ayesha. Turned out that Ayesha (Death) was chilling there only and Anoop was also up, so I chilled with them, drank 2 more beers and was sorted .... Woke up those guys after a couple of hours ........ and then headed to The Park for our interview and then we went for some CRAZY Beef rolls (Thank you "death" :p) .... Finally reached the venue (La Dolce Vita) for soundcheck .... tried to manage in some way or the other without Anupam .... the sound was aweful, but we managed. After Sound check Alo came and it was AWESOME meeting her.

Met Joanne (the owner of La Dolve Vita) and she was so sweet, she offered us her appartment, so we can chill and unwind and drink some wine while The Supersonics played their set. We all chilled there and had alot of laughs, Alo's friend Pablo came who was funny and took Danny' strip like mad ..... hahahahahahaha ..... and seriously Thanks Alo and Pablo for all the help with the stuff and generally showing us around, it was awesome chilling with you guys. We were called 10 minutes before we had to go on stage ........ We plugged in and we were good to go ........ Played an insane gig .... this was the first time i signed an autograph BEFORE the show began. It was the most Insane crowd .... Itni feel aa gayee thi that i climbed up on Pilla's monitor to interact with the crowd and they started pulling me towards them, one dude was pulling my t-shirt, two other ppl started to pick me up, if I didnt have my guitar, i would have gone ahead with that stage dive ..... but i realised that my guitar might get fucked and luckily Anoop was right there so I screamed "Anoop, Push me back RIGHT NOW!!!!!!" and he did and i landed on pilla's adapter and it broke ..... Aw le Aw le Aw le :p (No seriously .... Sorry about that dude) .... The gig got over and the crowd surrounded us and wouldn't let us leave .... It was actually getting scary, cuz they wouldnt let you get off stage, they surrounded us from every angle, they had that 'keep playing or ill tear your head off' look on their faces .... hehehehehehehe, anyhow, Joanne Called security and everything was cleared up ..... Crazy screaming fans, I love ALL of you \m/ ..... Cheers and thanks for all the support. But there were a few Hooligans over there, this one dude started to molest a chick and Anoop came to the rescue and got hit by a beer bottle ..... that is MESSED up ..... Cheers to Anoop for handelling everything like a pro.

Anyhow, ate some thai food there and then Joanne closed the place down and there was an after party with booze on the house for everybody. I loved the Calcutta vibe ..... Its almost like we were in a small town, cuz everybody knew each other and were so nice .... After La Dolce, we went to Someplace Else ..... Saw Span perform ... they were awesome. Saw Saturday night Blues band after that, but left after 2 songs, cuz we were VERY tired. Went back to the Guest house, unloaded all our equipment from Pablo's car and then we all went up to the room and chilled and drank some more ..... it was awesome. We played Dumb Charades and won obviously ..... See Ayesha? Arent you glad you were in Pilla and my team ?? "Aw le Aw le" ..... Hahahahahahha, you cant hit me now, im in delhi :p :p ..... But seriously thanks for everything .... you really made our trip amazing, thanks for all the beef places .... and flurry's (ill come back to flurry's) but before that while we were all drunk and laughing our asses off about random stuff, we ended up forming a new band "Carl, Pilla, Danny and myself" called "Hose in the Hoes" which is gonna be crazy, funky, groovy and very experimentive tones are gonna be used , im quite excited about it :D and now flurry's........ Ahhhhhh, gimme a second to talk about the rum balls and the brownie with ice cream ........ hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......... Amazing ....... But i just like it like any other human being , not like Danny .... Danny has weird ways of appreciating a rum ball ......... hahahahahahahahahaha..... Only the 6 of us there would know what im talking about.

Finally the time came for us to leave, we said our good byes and reached the airport, got on the plane. Pilla, Danny and I sat together , Carl and Anoop Sat together ..... We had a blast, Danny and I were also watching Entourage and we Laughed our asses off about a million different things ......... "cf" ........ Aw le Aw le Aw le :p :p :p ....... Finally we landed, dropped Danny and pilla home and reached home, chilled with my parents for about half an hour and then hit the sack and slept like a baby .......... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had an Amazing time in Calcutta .... Cant wait to play there again

Road trip ---- Mussoorie

Hey, I havent updated my blog in a while ...... This Mussoorie trip was amazing. It was just what i needed to get my mind off alot of things. At some level it was what we all needed. So my cousin, me and two of my oldest friends went to mussoorie and it was more than what we expected ......

So the vacation pretty much started at night when I was chilling with Parul and Gucci at Bennigan's GK-2 and we were drinking alot of beer. Then all the drunk talking started happening and girl problems started flowing hehehehehehehehe ..... anyhow, wont really go on about that in detail as this post is about the mussoorie trip, all i can say is that convincing a girl to get back with you when you are drunk is a tad bit harder than you think, hehehehehe, but at least you can speak your mind. Sooooo, Lohia and Vaid came drunk to my place and we started drinking even more, it was good fun. Jared came home ABSOLUTELY SLOSHED!!!!!! Hehehehehehehehe, he went upstairs and packed his clothes in a "lungi" :p ..... It was a hectic task getting Jared to wake up and walk to the cab. But once we were in, it was ROAD TRIP BABY!!!!! I had got a few beers and cigarettes for myself and "2good" protein bars to eat, but nobody else but I liked them :-( ...... Anyhow, it was one of the most uncomfortable journeys but probably one of the funnest. We had a kickass time on the road, laughing, talking shit and sleeping from time to time. Stopping for Paneer Pakodas at some random dhaba was good fun as well. By then we had already got delhi and our daily routines out of our system. It was just the four of us having a good time and getting ready to unwind at Landour.

As we reached Mussoorie, we first stopped at char Dukan before reaching the house and ate some crazy Bun Omelets and Banana Pancakes. I love the food at Tip Top Tea Shop, its just insane, I love going there and chilling with my guitar and keep ordering Wai Wai or Maggi and coffee etc etc ..... Basically eating all the unhealthy shit on this planet.

When we got to the house, we crashed as we were so tired and got up in the evening and then went down to Char dukan and just chilled there, it was so much fun. No worries about work, music, girls etc etc ... u know how it is :p . After a while, the 3 of them needed something other than my singing for entertainment so we bought cards and started playing Coatpiece .... We probably played for 3 hours straight and it became night, we ate dinner over there as well and then went up and chilled for a bit and then slept a little early.

The next day we had the WHOLE day to chill so we didnt sleep till very late, walked down to the mall and played video games, drank some beer ate some horrible chilly chicken and basically just hung out at the mall, but then started to head back. We walked the whole way back. Vaid and Lohia were about to die .... hehehehehehehehe..... Good fun :p , then ate some CRAZY parathas with alot of butter and then a banana pancake, it was insane. Played coatpiece again and then went up and played monopoly, hehehehehehe that was GOOD FUN. All the fights and the screaming and arguments. I really doubt boys can have fun without all of that. We had to leave early the next day as Lohia had to be in court by 10:30, so we left at 4 am and on the way to Dehradun, we found that there is this HUGE landslide that had blocked off the road and we were stuck because there was no other way down to dehrudun, so we drove all the way back up, slept and waited for the landslide to clear up and then we left.

Reached delhi very late at night and then slept our asses off :D ..... It was an amazing trip. Just what we all needed.

I had never been to Hyderabad before, so i was quite excited to go and play there. We just had a gig in delhi a week before the hyderabad show, but it somehow felt like we haven't played in years. I guess we were traveling by air after the chennai sector, so it seemed like a long time. Pilla and I left for the airport and we were damn excited about the gig and the trip in general. Surprisingly everyone reached on time. Anyhow, got in the plane and ate some CRAZY breakfast.... Good fun. When we landed in Hyderabad, I was amazed to see the airport. I have never seen an airport THAT amazing. It could even give competition to a lot of airports abroad. Anyhow, we caught the shuttle to Begampet and met up with sushmit and reached the hotel. CRAZY circles as usual!!!! We just hung out at the hotel and then went to 10 Downing Street to check it out. Best part is, ANYTHING we ordered there was on the house even before soundcheck and all.... CRAZY shit. Pilla and Bindal got so drunk in the afternoon and I was sober, so it was funny to be hanging out with 2 drunks. But the highlight of the afternoon was the HOOOOOOOOOT CHICK in red...... heheheheheh ..... She was most definitely our "Random gig girl" for Hyderabad. Went back to the hotel and had a BLAST. It was just the 4 of us chilling out and doing freaky things ....... We laughed our asses off. I wish i could tell you why we laughed so much, but we prefer to keep those things within the band :p. Anyhow, time came for us to leave for the venue and so we did .... Soundcheck and all was smooth. A few problems with the snare tone and Pilla's tone, but we sorted it out. Now we realise Golu's importance in the band. A sound engineer can actually make or break your gig. "Native Tongue" started playing and things were moving ..... There were quite a few people there. I got to meet an old friend 'Neha' over there, damn sweet of her to show up for the gig. Anyhow, time came for us to take the stage and we started playing, the stage was quite good for a pub gig ..... Crowd was having a good time and so were we. There was some CRAZY moshing as well. Played a good show, although my voice was sooooooooo fucked, I couldnt hit any high notes, I had a terrible cold. But since nobody seemed to notice, i didnt really care anymore. After the gig, I met Pilla's friends Manasi, Tania and Mani ..... Very sweet of them to come for our show. Tania made me so happy by singing along with our lyrics and asking for "My Bitch" hehehehehehehe ....... Met up with Anirudh from "Blend" as well. After the gig we were sooooo tired, but we got 2 encores, so we just decided to play them. Loved the gig. After the gig we all hung out back at our room, the band, Sushmit, Anirudh, Tania, Manasi, Mani and their friend (the phone dude ...... heheheheheh) we were all chilling and drinking (well ..... everyone except Srijan and myself). Had a great time, eventhough we never got to try Hyderabadi Biryani for which I will never forgive Mani (heheheheheheheh ..... :p). I would seriously love to come to Hyderabad and play again.

Next morning, Bindal, Sushmit and I were leaving VERY early.... 6 am flight back to delhi. So we got up very early and caught the shuttle back to the KICKASS airport, checked in etc etc ..... I got the middle seat, I was sooooooooo pissed off because of that and Bindal was nicely gloating cuz he got the window right next to me...... hehehehehe..... We were quite hungry, specially Bindal and we ate THE WORST chicken burger possible.... left it after a few bites. Anyhow, we got on the plane with HOT air hostesses :D and i got to my seat and SLEPT the whole way. Crazy stuff i tell you :D ......... But neither of us knew that this was gonna be our last gig for the pubrock tour because we cancelled the Bangalore gig.

So I would like to say THANK YOU to ALL those people in ALL those cities who took out time to come and watch us play. We loved each and every city and would want to play there again. We wanna thank you for all the support and all the cheering and all the moshing that you guys have done. We love each and every one of you ....... Hope to play for you guys very soon. And of course I wanna thank RSJ for giving us the opportunity of this tour, Amit Saigal for coming to our show in Simla and chilling with us, Kingfisher for ALL the free beer \m/ :D and definitely a special thanks to Sushmit and Sid for making our trip so much easier. Sid was only there in Chennai and would have been there in Bangalore, but Sushmit was there for all the other cities..... Let me start by saying that the gig was freaking INSANE!!!!!!! Loved it, every single bit of it. But here's something for all the people who came to the show and loved and then just went home. You guys have no idea of the kind of shit we went through just to play for you guys.......lol.......

The trip to Simla was quite chilled out. Left delhi early in the morning, didnt even have breakfast. I had a beer and a cigarette for breakfast. :-) Pilla ate a crazy omlette but thats understandable, he is a growing child and needs his nourishment........hehehehehe. Anyhow, had a blast on the road, we were laughing, listening to alot of music and simply enjoying ourselves. oh..... and the craziest thing happened on the way. Golu randomly says "Shiv" and then Jared looks out of the window towards a small shop and screams "SHIV!!!!!!!!!!!" and there he was ...... Mr. Shiv Lumba ..... hehehehehe, we just waived at him and kept going. We went to Simla a day earlier cuz, we wanted to check out the scene and see HSD play as well.

The road trip was nice, but when we reached Simla, it was total havoc and chaos. So much traffic. Then we came to know that we had walk uphill for a kilometer with our equipment. We were all like .......... "huh???? What???" Anyhow, we managed to reach the hotel and we got our rooms. When HSD reached, we came to know that those were actually their rooms and our rooms were gonna be given to us the next day. So, now we were in Hot soup. We kept our stuff in Sushmit's room, and went room hunting in season time....... Dont ever try it. Its horrible. So, we got into our car and started roaming the streets of Simla in search of a room. No such luck, so we just headed to Ritz, which a simla taxi driver called "Ritij" hehehehehehehehehe. Saw "Anus the Menace" and "HSD". But unluckily the crowd that night were just very inclined to Punjabi music and not rock music so much. So, HSD were asked to stop after about 5 songs, cuz the crowd was drunk and going crazy. They were enjoying themselves and were about to crack the floor open cuz they were jumping so much. But, its all good, I enjoyed myself ........ Was singing and screaming every word during the HSD gig and was drinking whiskey and chilling out basically. In the process of having fun, my voice got screwed up REALLY BADLY. Anyhow, we decided that we'll just crash with hsd, share the room with them. So went back and started drinking, and jamming in the room. There were so many people in the room it was crazy. We learnt that 1 of the rooms were for Dhaval and his girl friend and the other room for KD and his girl friend, so basically it was Shiv and the entire Cyanide crew in one room. I got a call in between and went outside to talk. The time the coversation ended, they were all still awake and making noise, so i slept on the road outside. I woke up after a few hours cuz it was FREEZING and i went up. By that time, everyone had gone to sleep. I took a good look around the room. The only one up was Pilla, people were on the bed , couch, floor. Jared was in between the bed and the wall....... It was the funniest site EVER. I just pushed shiv and srijan slightly and squeezed in. As the sleep started to kick in ...... I started getting molested by them so i kicked and pushed them away. Then as the sleep was about to kick in, Bindal started snoring sooo loudly, it woke up Srijan as well. Somehow, i managed to sleep. We all got up by 8:30 because of Jared talking so loudly....... lol

Anyhow, we got up, went down to Mall Road to eat some breakfast. Waited for HSD to check out and then ahhhhhh ........ Sleep, sleep dear sleep. It was probably the best nap EVER!!!!! During the hot coffee, halls and warm water gargelling, I needed rest as well inorder to be able to sing at night. Everone slept. Jared and Srijan got up earlier and went off to eat. I got up by 5, and was hungry, ate some crazy pizza from Domino's and then we got back woke up the rest and headed to the venue for soundcheck. The only I kept doing for 2 hours was drinking warm water, eating halls and doing my vocal warm up. Sound seemed quite sorted. Golu was happy with the sound. While the drums were being sound checked, pilla and I started doing finger warm ups for guitaring. 2 simultaneoud warm ups, it was hectic. Went on stage, we sorted our Monitor sound in about half and hour and then stepped off the stage. We were happy with the sound.

As people kept flowing in, Amit told us to start. So we went on stage and Amit got the crowd damn excited and we started. I was praying to god for my voice. The first line of my bitch ...... i was so surprised cuz my voice was just fine, sounded great. Thats all it took. The rest of the show is history. It was one of THE most memorable shows that we have played. The crowd in Simla were amazing. They were soooooo supportive. We got 3 encores, which has never happened before. We played our hearts out. As soon as the show was over, Srijan got up and took his shirt off.............. hehehehehehehehe......... Then the crowd came and met with us, people kept flowing in for autographs and pictures. It was awesome to meet them all. Good fun. Then we packed our dinner, and booze and went back to the hotel. Srijan left with Sushmit, the same night.

Back at the hotel, we had a crazy time, got drunk, played dumb Charades

Slept fairly well and then got up and left for delhi in the morning. Overall it was an amazing trip. It has been one of the better trips and performances in our tour so far. Hope to come back to Simla again. It is defintely gonna be on our list for the album tour, when we release the record.

I wanna thank all the people who came for the show, RSJ for making it happen, Golu on sound, Jared for the pictures and the videos and all his support, Kingfisher for all the amazing beer, Shiv for letting us crash in his room, Ronny for driving us there and the McDonald's on the way back for giving us food......... I dont think any of us had EVER been soooooooo happy to see a McDonald's

Bombay - Chennai tour !!!!!!!!

Our outstation gigs to Mumbai and Chennai were amazing. It was a very hectic, tiring trip with no sleep whatsoever. But good fun!!! So we start with Bombay, Srijan had to drop out last minute so we played with Daniel who did an amazing job. Just had 2 days to learn all our songs. He nailed it all to the core. Throughout the way, in the airport, on the plane, it was good fun. Learnt alot about planes from Daniel. Anyhow, so we reached bombay and it was raining and became quite muggy and humid. Reached the hotel, and the four of us had a nice circle and bonding and laughing session. Re-strung our guitars and we were set. Reached the venue and it was totally crappy, the manager was being a bastard and we were so not enthu about playing there, but it was ok. While sound checking we noticed this kid going on clicking our pictures. We got sorted with our sound and then Medusa came on stage for sound-check. A few of my friends came for the show, who I had not met in ages, Vantika and Chitwan. Good fun meeting up with them. My maasi and uncle also showed up, and i got damn excited to meet them. Anyhow, Medusa started and were sounding great, they created an awesome vibe and started giving us a complex cuz we needed to keep up with them. Anyhow, we went on stage and played a "Mind-blowing" gig, had alot of fun, crowd was awesome...... Met the kid who was taking our pictures, his name is Sameer and he says that he has been a fan for a while, very sweet kid. Awesome night, by the time we got done, we stepped outside and the weather was insane, it was AMAZING. Got back to the hotel, and barely slept for a couple of hours and then we had to wake up cuz our flight to chennai was very early................ Wanna go to Bombay and play again SOOOOOOOO BAD!!!!!!!

Then we left bombay, said bye to Daniel, cuz he was gong back home. Landed in Chennai, met up with Srijan, went to the hotel, which was awesome. It was nothing like the crappy hotel in bombay. It was amazing. Ahhhh....... I got to eat some awesome Chettinad food \m/ :D. Got back to the hotel, tried to sleep but Srijan (the kid that he is) kept ringing our door bell so we couldnt sleep........Urgh!!!! Anyhow, Reached the venue, nice place, very chilled. Our gig didnt attract much of a crowd, but whoever were there, liked it. It was a very laid-back and chilled out gig, played a few songs that we had never practiced ever before. Met up with Sidhu and Arjun (JYG) and hung out with them. They took us out for more Chettinad food at night, Keema Dosas and all \m/ :D Awesome Stuff. Went back to the hotel, got drunk and stayed up. Left for the airport at 4:30 AM .......... Had the most uncomfortable flight back to delhi......

Reached Delhi, got home by 9:30 AM and slept for 21 hours straight!!!!!!!!! :D

June 8th ....... What a CRAZY Day!!!!!!

It started off with my confirmation. That was the hectic part. Getting up at 6:30 am, reaching the church by 7:30, rehearsing the song I had to do with the other people getting confirmed (which I had rehearsed only once the day before for about half an hour) . Got confirmed, felt so sleepy in the church........ Anyhow, that was one HUGE load of my back. I needed to get confirmed. Then came home and slept for a bit. Had a CRAZY lunch at West View, Beef Steaks ..... Awesome :D

Came home chilled for a bit and then left for soundcheck and played THE MOST AMAZING GIG Pub gig of my life. Hadn't felt a rush like that in ages. Awesome.......... Awesome day !!!!!!! :D

This month has been pretty good....... Good gigs lined up in this month, lots of payment been cleared as well :D ....... New song that is being recorded right now is sounding awesome, and generally the studio scene is moving forward, so basically things are speeding up as far as the album goes. Anyhow, our next gig is on the 16th at Delhi College of Engineering alongwith Feedback and Prestorika..... It should be alot of fun. I've always wanted to play with prestorika, they are awesome. \m/

To see Sahir walking for the first time was one of the happiest moments of my life. He took a while, but he finally did it. Its a blessing to the whole family. We are all sooooooo happy for him. It was probably the first time that I got all choked up........ Saw my dad get all choked up. For those who know him, would probably understand exactly how unusual that it is....... We finished a whole bottle of Blue Label and then Royal Salute along with amazing fish cooked by my chacha and there was tons of Dee's Biryani as well :D \m/

A year of mixed emotions so far.......

Well, the year has been pretty confusing so far....... The first day of the year started off with a death in the family, so that kind messed things up. Two gigs back to back in the first week. Our very first gig of the year was an acoustic gig, it was awesome. The next gig was expected to be crap, but it ended being amazing as well. I dented my new car that day :-( ........ My love life is a constant see-saw, so that keeps playing with my head. Latest is that i'm filling in for Carl in Half Step down.......Jammed last night, GOOD FUN :D

A killer new year's eve

At first, Jared and I had planned to have a get together at the house like always and then push of to a couple of small togethers with booze, bbq and bonfires \m/..... but a couple of whiskeys down we kindda got set at the house chilling with family. It was nice to bring in the new year with family and not go out anywhere. My chacha made some kickass food as always and last thing for the night was of course firing the double barrele shot guns \m/

A beautiful finale' to a brilliant year

Our gig on 23rd December was the shit............ "The Shiznet" as Pills calls it..........heheheheheh. Good fun, a great last gig of the year. This year was the most amazing year for the band. Good friends at the gig, free drinks and food and plus i got to play in a twinkling santa hat :p :p :p . Im glad that our last gig of the year was with Srijan.

Killer gigs in january when Arpan was in the band. Most of our songs were polished up and we finally figured out a new sound for ourselves. The songs started to sound so much fuller e.g. Holding Cell was completely re-done, Untold Misery got new riffs and of course "Pretence" was born \m/

Along the year, as we kept playing gigs, we seemed to have gained a decent amount of popularity. But in June, the most significant landmark in cyanide's carreer happened and that was "Launchpad" ....... Went to Mumbai for the prelims, played the best show ever and had a blast in that whole trip. The more outstation gigs we played, the closer the whole band became. It was a good thing that Cyanide and HSD went together, cuz all of us are like brothers and it was great fun getting drunk and playing dumb charades......... but watching Shiv light his balls on fire was the highlight of the trip.........lol. Then we got selected to play the finals and we practiced like crazy and got pretty tight as a band i must say. It was the first time when I felt that our band is finally complete and everyone in the band is just right. Our line-up FINALLY setlled down. A few senti moments here and there, which didnt last for too long thanks to bindal.......lol :p. Things were good for me, you know........ played in front of the most amazing and largest crowd......... things were good with girl friend as well :p

Then we had the most amazing trip to Bangalore for a "Pubrock fest" gig. The amount of beef and chocolate we ate in that trip was phenomenal \m/. After this gig, life kindda went down hill for a bit. I had to stay in bangalore for 3 months for some internship, so the band was on a break plus me and my girl friend broke up, so life basically sucked till I got back home. Gigs started again and life was good again.......... and PS: Its good to be single :p. Probably the only good things that came out of my isolation in bangalore are that i wrot enew songs "Man Marooned" , "Miss Lane" and "Animal"

Rocktoberfest gig was good, Sang "Miss Lane" with Michelle Lobo. Played a new version of "Lucid Dream" with Carl Abraham on bass. Then we headlined "Harmony 2007" at St. Stephens College.

So basically our gig 23rd was a good and chilled end to the year, and our first gig of 2008 is an Unplugged gig........ \m/

Looking forward to next year :-)
